Clinical Associate Professor NYU Langone NYU Langone New York, New York
In this session, Dr. Kirpekar will explore the most common causes of pelvic pain in female patients by breaking down the causes into conditions as they relate to muscles, bones, organs, and nerves. She will further a provide a pathway to diagnose the cause, including workup and physical exam. She will also explore treatments, both interventional and non-interventional options. Interventional options include nerve and muscle injections as well as possible ablation, devices, and surgery. Non-interventional options include physical therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, lifestyle modifications, and alternative therapies. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how to apply these insights to their clinical practice for improved patient outcomes.
