Raj serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Kenvue to help deliver the company mission of serving the personal health needs of consumers around the world realize the extraordinary power of everyday care. In this capacity Raj is responsible for a Global Team of Medical Clinical & Safety Science professionals. Raj’s responsibilities include oversight and accountability for Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Clinical operations (including Statistics and Data Management) Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Product Vigilance, Safety Evaluation & Reporting, Safety Planning & Operations, Safety Policy and Systems Oversight and Epidemiology. Raj and his teams’ responsibility spans E2E support across the product lifecycle including new products, claims development, evidence generation, advancing science-based marketing, scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, scientific education and patient advocacy and all aspects of safety risk evaluations, post-marketing safety reporting and pharmacovigilance. In his current role Raj is a member of the Global R&D leadership team and also serves on various internal governance & oversight committees.
Raj is a physician-scientist, Medical & R&D leader with a wealth of U.S. and global life science industry experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical and Product development, Toxicology/Safety/Pharmacovigilance and broad experience in OTC, Self-Care and Consumer Health across multiple therapeutic categories at leading consumer health companies. Before his current role, Raj held senior medical & R&D leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health, Merck Consumer Care and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Health.
Raj earned his medical doctor degree and Masters’ General Surgery at B.J. Medical College, Pune University in India where he also completed his residency in General Surgery. Raj holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) In Pharmacology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Medicine (Springfield IL) and an Advanced Management Program Certification from Wharton, University of Pennsylvania.
