George Dungan is currently the Founder and Principal Scientist for Dungan Research Associates, and an Adjunct Professor in Respiratory Care at Canisius College, Buffalo NY. Prof. Dungan has spent over 40 the area of Sleep and Pulmonary Medicine, Clinical Research and Research Operations, and in Commercial Medical Technology. Dungan Research Associates provides Clinical Affairs and Clinical Research services to Medical Technology and BioTech / Pharmaceutical clients. Prof. Dungan serves as a Senior Scientific Consultant for Vapotherm, after 10 years of work with Vapotherm serving as Vice President, Science and Innovation, responsible for innovation, intellectual property, scientific characterization and clinical research. Prior to joining Vapotherm, he was at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Australia from 2005 to 2011 where he served as the Chief Operating Officer, Head of Technology Research and Technical Director for the Australian Centre for Chronobiology, Endocrinology and Sleep Science. His research interests include clinical management of disease and characterization of complex physiology. Prof. Dungan has worked in sleep, neurophysiology, and pulmonary medicine since 1982. Prof. Dungan received his MPhil in Medicine from Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney, Australia. Prof. Dungan holds over 40 US and international patents.
