Richard Petruschke, PharmD

Richard Petruschke is a Medical Director in US Medical Affairs at Haleon Consumer Healthcare in Warren, NJ in the United States. He currently leads the Pain Category Team where he is also the primary Medical Lead for the Advil Brand. Richard was trained as a PharmD at the ‘Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science’, and he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Regulatory Affairs with Rutgers University and Hoffmann-La Roche. He has a 20 plus year career in the Pharmaceutical Industry where he has worked at Hoffmann-La Roche, Merck, Novartis, GlaxxoSmithKline, and Haleon in Regulatory Affairs, Medical Communications, Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Innovation, and Rx to OTC Switch. Richard has been an individual contributor, and he has also led in-house and contract teams across a range of functions. He has extensive experience in Pain Management, and he has also worked in Virology, Infectious Disease, Respiratory, Oncology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Osteoporosis, Allergy, Immunology, and other areas in both the Rx and OTC sectors. Richard is extensively published across these therapeutic areas, and he has been a presenter at a range of Medical Society Meetings and other scientific forums. He is strongly committed to people development and has been an adjunct faculty member and preceptor/mentor for Post-Doctoral, PhD, PharmD, and other students for over 10 years and at 6 academic institutions. Richard has also been a practicing Hospital Pharmacist for over 20 years, and held leadership positions in local, state, and national Pharmacy Societies. He is a strong advocate for the practice of pharmacy and is committed to patient care. Richard resides on a horse farm in Pennsylvania and enjoys outdoor activities, travelling, soccer, and spending time with friends when not working.
