Family Physician
Dr. Juan Antonio Valadez
Whittier, California
Juan Antonio’s path to medicine was shaped by a deep admiration for medical nonprofit organizations—those that promoted social causes and delivered essential services to communities in need. Inspired by their impact, he shifted careers to pursue medicine with a focus on underserved populations, earning his medical degree from Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at New Mexico State University. Prior to medicine, Juan held many different types of jobs, but professionally, he worked in the arts as an art director and graphic designer after completing his undergraduate studies in Fine Art at California State University, Long Beach. This creative background continues to inform his holistic and community-centered approach to patient care. Passionate about health equity, Juan is committed to improving healthcare communication and breaking down language and cultural barriers, particularly for immigrant communities. He plans to work in urgent care over the next year while applying for a Pain Medicine fellowship during the 2025 application cycle, with the goal of beginning fellowship training in the summer of 2026. Through his combined training in family and pain medicine, Juan remains dedicated to advancing comprehensive, community-based care and expanding access for underserved populations.
